ERICA HRUBY is Editorial Director at Leonardo/International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology (Leonardo/ISAST), providing strategic leadership in the areas of publications and product development. Hruby manages development of the flagship Leonardo journal and is initiating the development of new dissemination pathways including print, digital and experimental publications.

Hruby spent 17 years working in educational publishing, in both editorial and writing capacities, which provided extensive experience in crafting and refining content and managing publication development. She began her editorial career at Brown Publishing Network in the greater Boston area and then spent nine years at the Center for the Collaborative Classroom in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Early in her career, she worked in research labs in Boston, U.S.A., and in Johannesburg and Stellenbosch, South Africa, collecting and analyzing linguistic data on signed languages. Outside of publishing, Hruby is a nonprofit advocate who has taken leadership roles with several organizations focused on social justice, athletics and animal protection.
