Christian Greuel

Christian Greuel is a real-time 3D artist and producer who has been working in the fields of virtual worlds, visual simulation, and/or virtual reality since the early 1990s. He has worked for Timeless Cities, Planet 9 Studios, LEGO, and Fakespace. Clients have included Boeing, Media Machines, NASA, SGI, Sun, Telepresence Research, Volkswagen, and the US Navy.
He has co-authored papers for IMAGE 2005 and IS&T/SPIE Symposium on Electronic Imaging. He has been a guest speaker at Art Center College of Design, San Francisco State University, and the Institute for Creative Technologies at USC. He has presented at conferences such as SIGGRAPH, Opera Totale, THINK, and the California Governorís Conference on the Arts.
His artwork has been presented at the Experience Music Project, Saul Zaentz Film Center, The Exploratorium, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the International Symposium on Electronic Arts. He is a member of ACM SIGGRAPH. In 2003, he was honored with the Brisbane Mayorís Achievement Award for Recognition in the Arts.
Formally trained as a fine artist, Greuel earned his MFA (1992) in Performing Arts Design and Technology at the California Institute of the Arts. His BFA (1988) is from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
