Maurits Kelder (1964) is a researcher and engineer. He studied nuclear physics at the University of Utrecht. And worked in the Internet industry developing new services. He is actively involved in the design and realization of high-end audio systems. In addition he develops software and electronic circuits.
Together with Sarita Dev he founded DEVART, aiming at bringing together the Science of sound and visual perception, Technology and Art. Their recent work Himalaya’s Head focuses on mismatches between head movements and images on the retina. Himalaya’s Head premiered in 2005 at Waag Society in Amsterdam, after which it was presented at numerous international art festivals and scientific conferences.
