ISEA 2023: SYMBIOSIS
ISEA, a major event on the global electronic art scene, aims to strengthen the dialogue between artists, researchers, engineers, designers and entrepreneurs from the cultural and creative industries who participate in the advances of research and creation. This multidisciplinary event is open to both specialists and the general public.
The 28th edition of ISEA brings together a week of seminars, exhibitions, and over 500 experts from 70 applicant countries at the Forum des images in Paris, as well as in about fifty partner cultural sites across France!

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Veridical Travel Around The World of A True Imaginary Plant traces the voyage of a plant —real, artificial or fictitious— around the world, telling its own story, the stories of other plants and living creatures (other than humans and humans) it encounters, of whom and what it meets.
The Travelling Plant has been selected for ISEA Paris and is thrilled to discover the Nelson Mandela Garden, which is located directly above the ISEA venue in the heart of the city.
The Travelling Plant is walked through five Stations to uncover a new understanding of this specific designed urban environment, guided by artist Eva-Maria Lopez and with the active participation of ISEA attendees & wider audiences in the form of a fieldtrip and walkspace. Eva-Maria Lopez is interpreting the garden through selected plants and locations, bringing to light stories—historical, economic, political, and botanical—that the plants are embodying. The Tour is a component of her project, The Gentlemen in my Garden.

The 28th edition of ISEA, co-organised by Le Cube Garges and the École des Arts Décoratifs, will take place in Paris at the Forum des images from 16 to 21 May 2023, as well as through an artistic programme spread over 80 partner cultural venues throughout France in spring-summer 2023.
ISEA2023 is co-organised by Le Cube Garges, executive producer, École des Arts Décoratifs, academic supervision, and the Forum des images, symposium venue.
