ENTANGLED FUTURES

Mingling ecological knowledges

Entangled Futures is a series of eight lectures and six workshops, curated by Maite Pastor Blanco and Laurane Le Goff (MA Art & Science, CSM). The programme aims to provide creative learning regarding the current ecological change by understanding and re-thinking some of the challenges from the Anthropocene. This body of work functions as a bridge between existing sustainable practices within and outside UAL and as a cross-pollination of knowledges through interdisciplinary and intersectional approaches.

The value behind the land A group lecture review both online and in person at Central Saint Martins (room C202), Tuesday 16th November from 5.30pm to 7.30 pm GMT).

This fourth event in a series of eight, will close the first part: understand the Entangled Futures. We will question the different ways of considering “land ethics”, a concept created by Aldo Leopold, a naturalist and philosopher from the early 20th century. Inviting Katrin Prager a senior lecturer in land economy management, Billie Coxhead, a material and product adviser, Francesca Rockey, independent journalist and founder of Black Geographers and Susanne Weiland, a graduate student from MA Material Futures; we will engage in a cross disciplinary discussion, where each person will bring their own ethical consideration of the land. Once again, the event will engage with speakers from very different backgrounds in order to understand what are the challenges that the ecological change bring to our relationship with the land.
