The LASER talks Fortaleza this Friday March 29 2019 is a walkthrough in the Milgram’s Continuum. Based on the idea of a  Reality Virtuality Continuum created in the late 80’s and early 90’s by Paul Milgram, the term Altered Reality refers to all the possibilities within this group – from Augmented and Mixed to Virtual. Professor Guido Militão shares recent explorations using 360 degree cameras and drones for documenting cultural heritage such as local variation of the Maracatu; Felipe Bedê, Visiting Scholar at Duke's Pratt School of Engineering, is back to Fortaleza and will present a research update on Virtual Reality as an Assistive Technology; Guilherme Ximenes presents his activist art work using Augmented Reality addressing cultural power structures related to Brazil's political and economic system’s unspeakable moral crisis.

Guido Militão

Master of Engineering (MEng) by the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro PUC-RJ is a professor of Human Computer Interaction at the University of Fortaleza UNIFOR and is the director of a research project focused on the usage of innovative technology in teaching and learning process.

Guilherme Ximenes

Studies Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Fortaleza and since 2018 is a member of the CrossLab collective exploring Augmented Reality possibilities in the production of activist artworks and the potential for street art interventions. He was a trainee teacher for Environmental Psychology (2018) under the supervision of Professor Marilia Diógenes and for Urban Sociology (2018) under the supervision of Professor Cinira D’Alva at the same institution.

Felipe Bedê

B.A. in Robotics by the University of Fortaleza is a Visiting Scholar at Duke's Pratt School of Engineering USA and explores Virtual Reality potential as an Assistive Technology. He was a researcher at the Automation and Wearable Computing Lab at UNIFOR (2016-2018) and an intern at the LE@D – Dell Lab for research on Distance Education for People with Disabilities in Fortaleza, Brazil.

O LASER talks Fortaleza desta sexta-feira 29 de março de 2019 é um caminhar pelo Milgram's Continuum. Com base na ideia de um continuum Realidade-Virtualidade proposto no final dos anos 80, início dos anos 90, por Paul Milgram, o termo Realidade Alterada (Altered Reality) refere-se a todas as possibilidades dentro deste grupo – da Realdiade Aumentada e Realidade Mista à Realidade Virtual. O professor Guido Militão compartilha explorações recentes usando câmeras 360 ​​graus e drones para documentar o patrimônio cultural brasileiro incluindo a variação local do Maracatu; Felipe Bedê, pesquisador visitante na Escola de Engenharia Pratt da Duke University, está de volta a Fortaleza e apresentará um update de pesquisa sobre Realidade Virtual como uma Tecnologia Assistiva; Guilherme Ximenes apresenta seu trabalho de arte ativismo usando Realidade Aumentada para evidenciar estruturas culturais de poder relacionadas à indescritível crise moral do sistema político e econômico no Brasil.

Guido Militão

Mestrado em Engenharia (MEng) pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro PUC-RJ é professor de Interação Humano-Computador na Universidade de Fortaleza UNIFOR e é diretor de um projeto de pesquisa focado no uso de tecnologia inovadora nos processos de ensino e aprendizagem.

Guilherme Ximenes

Estuda Arquitetura e Urbanismo na Universidade de Fortaleza e, desde 2018, é membro do coletivo CrossLab, explorando possibilidades do uso de Realidade Aumentada em propostas de arte ativismo com potencial para intervenções de arte de rua. Foi monitor das disciplinas Psicologia Ambiental (2018) sob a orientação da Professora Marilia Diógenes e de Sociologia Urbana (2018) sob a orientação da Professora Cinira D'Alva na mesma instituição.
