RECOGNITION OF LEONARDO’S OUTSTANDING PEER REVIEWERS

By Jennifer Strickland

This month we extend our gratitude and congratulations to the following for their in-depth and deeply constructive feedback on papers under consideration for publication:

Wolfgang Muench is a media artist and academic currently holding the position of Dean, Learning, Teaching & Research at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. His interactive media artworks have been shown in numerous international exhibitions and media festivals. He studied Fine Arts in Stuttgart and Vienna and joined the ZKM Centre for Art and Media, Karlsruhe, in 1996 as a software designer. He taught Media Art at Merz-Academy Stuttgart, the Hong Kong Art Centre, and LASALLE, and was Artist-in-Residence at ZKM, ARS Electronica Linz and IAMAS Japan. In 2017, he received his PhD from the University of Vienna.

Ruth Wallen is a multi-media artist and writer whose work is dedicated to encouraging dialogue around ecological and social justice. After working as an environmental scientist, she turned to art to address the values informing environmental policy.  She creates interactive installations, nature walks, web sites, artist books and performative lectures. Her recent work centers around walking with trees—bearing witness to their losses due to urbanization, globalization and climate change, and using tree rings as a way to visualize future climate scenarios. Active in the border region, she was past president of the Binational Association for Schools of Communication in the Californias and a Fulbright Lecturer at the Autonomous University of Baja California, Tijuana. She is core faculty for the MFAIA in Interdisciplinary Arts program at Goddard College, currently a Lenz fellow at Naropa University.
