The Department of Wood Science and Engineering (WSE) invites applications for a full-time 1.00 FTE, 9-month, fixed term Instructor position.

The Department of Wood Science and Engineering (WSE) is a multidisciplinary program focused on science, technology, design, engineering, and business practices that help society sustainably meet our needs for renewable materials, and help ensure the global competitiveness of US business. Our mission is to discover the science, create the technology, and design the renewable materials, products and structures for future generations. We are one of the largest and most diverse renewable materials programs in North America.

The purpose of this position is to foster critical thinking, advance students’ knowledge and skills through the teaching of Renewable Materials courses. The incumbent is expected to provide an intellectual foundation for students concerning wood products, form and function concepts, machining, production, product design, and marketing topics.

This Instructor will be developing and delivering courses in Advanced CAD, Entrepreneurial Product Development, Computer-aided Manufacturing, managing wood shop operations; and leading wood shop safety.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
* Master’s Degree in Business, Science, Art, Design, or related field.
* Teaching experience.
*Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM).
*Familiarity with proper and safe handling of woodworking equipment.
*A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
*Experience with safety programs and training.
