LABS Seeks Reviewers for Graduate Abstracts

Dates or Deadline:
28 January 2019 to 1 May 2019
Organized by:
Sheila Pinkel

As the English language editor of Leonardo Abstract Services (LABS)  I am writing to invite you to join other peer reviewers this coming summer to assess the 2018-19 abstract submissions. Leonardo is the MIT publication devoted to the intersection of art, science and technology. The LABS database, which is well over ten years old, can be found at Authors of accepted MA, MFA and PhDs are invited to submit abstracts of their theses which are annually reviewed by an international panel of reviewers and ranked. Top ranked abstracts appear in an edition of Leonardo the following year and very top ranked authors are invited to write an article for Leonardo. Abstracts not appropriate for the database are eliminated.

Peer reviewing occurs in July of each year. Peer reviewers are sent a ranking form to fill out. If some questions arise about a few of the rankings, peer reviewers are contacted a second time for input. Usually there are between 40 - 75 abstracts to review. Prior reviewers have reported that they find the process enjoyable and informative.

Please let me know if you are willing and able to join the peer reviewers this coming summer. Thank you in advance for your prompt response to this request. I look forward to hearing from you.
