Karin Ohlenschläger is an art critic and curator who specialises in contemporary art and new technologies. Since 2002, she has been co-director of the MediaLabMadrid program at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre in Madrid. She has directed Cibervisión 02 - Ier Festival Internacional de Arte, Ciencia y Tecnología at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre (2002), the Chips: circuitos emergentes de la cultura digital competition at the European Institute of Design in Madrid (2001), Cibervisión99 - Muestra Internacional de Arte, Ciencia y Nuevas Tecnologías, at the Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid (1999), the Festival Internacional de Infoarquitectura, Ministerio de Fomento, Madrid (1997), as well as IN ART -Festival Internacional de Arte Cibernético, Tenerife (1996) and the Vídeo Forum Internacional at the Spanish Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid (1986-88), among others.
She has been curator of the exhibitions banquete05_comunicación en evolución, at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre (2005) and banquete03_metabolismo y comunicación, at the Palau de la Virreina in Barcelona, the Center for Art and Media/ZKM in Karlsruhe and the Conde Duque Cultural Centre (2003), Media Ambiente - MAD01, Autonomous Community of Madrid, IFEMA (2001), Marea Negra at the Fundación Telefónica in Madrid (2000), Vértigos - artes audiovisuales on-line/off-line at the Sala Amadís (1999), Arte Virtual - Realidad Plural at the Museo Monterrey in Mexico (1997) and Todo Fluye, a retrospective of Spanish infography, at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, MNCARS, in Madrid (1996), among others.
