Enrico Nardelli is Full Professor of Informatics in the University of Roma "Tor Vergata", affiliated with the Department of Mathematics.
He has worked in the fields of algorithms and data structures, databases and geographical information systems, cooperative and distributed information systems. He his currently interested in the areas of tools and environments for interaction with information systems, bio-informatics, and digital art.
He thinks that to work at the intersection between informatics and other disciplines is of the utmost importance for the future of informatics to show how it can benefit to and receive benefit from other cultural areas.
He has been (2003-08) the President of GRIN, the Italian Association of University Professors of Informatics, and is currently Vice-President and Executive Board Member of Informatics Europe, the association of informatics departments and research laboratories in Europe and neighbouring areas. He is also Executive Board Member of EQANIE, the European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education.
