Midori Kitagawa is a visual artist, educator, and researcher with a Ph.D. degree in visualization science from Texas A&M University, a M.A. degree in Computer graphics and animation from the Ohio State University, and a B.F.A. degree in painting from Joshibi University in Tokyo, Japan.
Prof. Kitagawa has been teaching computer animation since 1994. Her former advisees are contributing to the field of computer animation at educational institutions and at leading production companies, such as Pixar, Blue Sky, and PDI.
Since Prof. Kitagawa joined the Arts and Technology Program at University of Texas at Dallas in 2004, she has been developing an extensive animation curriculum which consists of courses in traditional 2D animation, and 3D computer animation, motion capture animation, and other animation related subjects.
