Ricardo Dal Farra
Ricardo Dal Farra has been conducting activities in the merging fields of arts, sciences and new technologies as a composer and multimedia artist, researcher, educator, performer and curator focusing mainly on new media arts and electroacoustic music for more than 30 years. Dal Farra holds a PhD in Etude et pratiques des arts from Universite du Quebec a Montreal-UQAM. He is Associate Professor of the Music Department and Associate Director of Hexagram, the Centre for Research-Creation in Media Arts and Techologies at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada; Founding Director of the Electronic Arts Research Centre (Centro de Experimentacion e Investigacion en Artes Electronicas - CEIArtE) at National University of Tres de Febrero, Argentina; and Associated Researcher at the Music, Technology and Innovation Research Centre of De Montfort Univerisity, United Kingdom. He has taught media arts research-creation and history, electroacoustic music composition, improvisation, music technology, acoustics and psychoacoustics, music for films and recording arts in universities, conservatories and media arts centres. He has been leading e-learning projects, including the development of an innovative collaborative platform. His music has been featured in 20 interantional recordings (by Frog Peak Music, Computer Music Journal, Bonk, Leonardo Music Journal, Contemporary Music Review, Fondo Nacional de las Artes-Argentina, Consejo Argentino de la Musica. Dal Farra's work has been distinguished with grants and commissions by the International Computer Music Association; the International Arts Biennial of San Pablo, Brazil; the National Endowment for the Arts from Argentina; and the Centro di Sonologia Computazionale of the University of Padua, Italy, among others. He is an active member of the Editorial Board of Leonardo (MIT Press) and Organised Sound (Cambridge University Press).
