The Leonardo/ISAST LASERs are a program of international gatherings that bring artists, scientists, humanists and technologists together for informal presentations, performances and conversations with the wider public. The mission of the LASERs is to encourage contribution to the cultural environment of a region by fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and opportunities for community building to over 40 cities around the world.

The panel discussion focuses on the strategies of education process in the field of digital art, effective instruments of practical and theoretical learning, and multidisciplinary project based approach. What kind of training serves artists well during a time of immense cultural and technological change? What are the challenges and advantages of Artists in Labs Transdisciplinary Collaborations?  How can we innovate or improve academic pedagogical structures to facilitate interdisciplinary approaches and collaboration? What opportunities does the integration open and what issues are raised?  What can we learn from that experience and “adopt” in traditional form of education? What are challenges for guidelines for evaluating digital projects?
