“Light is the faithful archivist of time.” August Muth Join August Muth in a virtual LASER talk to explore the mysteries of light through the medium of holography, and hear his perspective on sculpting light. Holograms are a wondrous physical manifestation of the multi-dimensional and spectral character of light. Utilizing the panorama of the hologram, light’s ethereal character will be probed, allowing an expanded comprehension of who and what light is. Muth's work is intended to immerse the viewer in a multi-dimensional sensory experience marked by exquisite saturated color and mystery. As well as viewing and discussing various artworks, Muth will provide a virtual tour of his holographic studio. For more than thirty-five years, August Muth has been an internationally exhibiting artist and pioneer in the exploration of light. He began his studies of art and physics at the University of New Mexico in 1974. From 1975 to 1978, he attended the University of Houston and the University of Texas at Austin to continue his studies. After an inspiring visit to New York City in 1978, he left Texas and moved to New York. In 1980, Muth began working with holographic processes at New York’s Museum Of Holography. In 1985, he moved to the Telluride, Colorado area to build his own holography studio. After seven years in Colorado, Muth’s studio was moved to Santa Fe and expanded to accommodate more ambitious projects. www.augustmuth.com
