What does it mean to eat in a world of increasing environmental extremes?
Explore with artists:
4:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M.
Bring your hands, noses and mouths — they are critical tools! Together, we will think and taste our way through asking what alternative forms of food production, distribution and consumption.
We invite exploration of where the edges live, and how thinking of edges through the whole-bodied act of eating offers new insights into how to make a better future for all.
From topics such as considering "do and are you consume(d)?", food and culture, fashion, and what could it take to have food security in uncertain times and/or other worlds; we will have a variety of featured artist exhibits and food to eat!
There are various workshops being hosted by our artists at the Emerge festival. We are sending information about how to pre-register for these workshops in the week of March 16th-20th.

Emerge explores the future in evocative ways. This festival offers imaginative and hands-on experiences of the future–exposing the latest inventions from ASU and beyond, and asking how we might shape and adapt them in surprising ways. By bringing together artists, scientists, humanists, designers, and other performers and scholars, Emerge draws on ASU’s diverse ecology of world-renowned researchers and its culture of interdisciplinary exchange to create vibrant portraits of alternative futures. Each year Emerge curates art, technology, performance, and interactive narrative for the general public, inviting everyone to participate in what’s to come by making it tangible and accessible here and now.
