LASER Talk: Creative Genes The Intersection of Art + Genetics

Since meeting 1992, artists Christa Sommerer and Laurent Mignonneau have created interactive computer installations that apply scientific principles to art, such as artificial life, complexity, and generative systems. In celebration of their first retrospective in the United States and a newly created artwork that will debut at UCI, the artists will discuss their work in conversation with academic collaborators from the Departments of Cognitive Robotics, Computer Sciences, Cognitive Science, and Biology. A full speaker list will be published two weeks prior to the event beallcenter.uci.edu.
