WILD UTOPIA

The theme for the LASER talks this September is a reference to a book written by the sociologist and senator of the Republic Darcy Ribeiro, and works as a starting point for the proposed reflections this evening when we’ll celebrate the one year anniversary of the first LASER in Brazil.

The invitation is for joining the invited speakers in a reflection around the importance of stimulating and promoting the dialogue between arts, sciences and technologies in our country considering the challenge of reformulating our survival strategies and foster social awareness.  

The guests that will guide the conversation are Professor Henrique Sá, MD and MS in Health Professions Education (MHPE) by the University of Illinois, Chicago, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Teaching at UNIFOR, Professor Jackson Vasconcelos,  Engineer, Ph.D. by the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa and Director of the Center of Technological Sciences (CCT) at  UNIFOR, Professor Cecília Andrade, Architect and Visual Artist, finalist of the 2nd seLecT Art and Education Prize, with a Masters in Arts by the Arts and Culture Institute, Federal University of Ceará,  and the featured artist, Professor Silvia Helena Cardoso, Photographer, Social Scientist by the University of Sao Paulo with an emphasis on Social Anthropology and Visual Anthropology, PhD in Arts by the UNICAMP, currently a professor at the Federal University of Southern and Southeastern Pará where she has been documenting the culture of  the Amazon people.
