Lark Buckingham

Lark VCR works in video, installation, interactive media, critical design, and performance. VCR stands for Virtually Conflicted Reality. A common thread in her work is multiplicity of meaning and experience in an increasingly digitized world — many projects explore the personal, political, and social implications of the dissolving boundary between body and machine. Using humor within a critical queer framework, Lark tackles subject matter as diverse as biofeedback, data privacy, oceanic myth, sexual violence culture, virtual trauma, and human-computer desire.
