In recent years, the art-science relationship has taken on a new dimension and covers very different, if not opposite, practices, themes and approaches. LASER Paris intends to explore the different modalities of these creations and researches to constitute a place of reflection and exchange and to offer opportunities for professional meetings between the actors.
At each meeting, artists and scientists share their experience. One of these "duets" comes from the projects supported by La Diagonale Paris-Saclay. In addition, in 2017, the theme of the Anthropocene was retained as a common theme: at each meeting at least one of the participants will be an artist or a scientist whose work or research is related to this theme. And, according to the LASER meeting format, the public will have a say not only in the debates around the projects but also by a time dedicated to its announcements and the open discussions after the presentations.
LASER (Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous) Talks is Leonardo's international program of evening gatherings that bring artists and scientists together for informal presentations and conversations. LASER Talks were founded in 2008 by Bay Area LASER Chair Piero Scaruffi and are in over 30 cities around the world.
