Stephen Petersen regularly teaches courses in the history of modern and
contemporary art at both the University of Delaware and the University of
Pennsylvania. His research activities focus on intersections of art,
technology, and mass culture in the mid-twentieth century. He received his
doctorate from the University of Texas in 2001 and is currently in the midst
of preparing a book manuscript based on his dissertation, "Space and the
Space Age in Postwar European Art: Lucio Fontana, Yves Klein, and their
Contemporaries."
