Jennifer Gabrys is a writer and artist living in London and Montreal. She is
a
Ph.D. candidate in Communication Studies at McGill University, and is
currently
a Mellon Fellow through the Institute of Historical Research at the
University
of London, where she is completing her dissertation, Electronic Waste: The
History of Excess in the Information Age. During 2004, she was Researcher in
Residence at the Centre for Research and Documentation at the Daniel
Langlois
Foundation, where she investigated the collections and archives on
Experiments
in Art and Technology (E.A.T.). Previously, she practiced landscape
architecture and art in Los Angeles, where she was involved with the Center
for
Land Use Interpretation in developing conceptual landscape projects. She has
authored artist's books and essays, including Airdrop (Bookworks, 2004); and
"Motor Chorus," published in Surface Tensions (Errant Bodies Press, 2003).
