BioLogic Art (in collboration with SIGGRAPH 2009)

If your creative practice involves digital technologies, then SIGGRAPH 2009 offers you a premier opportunity to connect your work with an interested audience of over 20,000 creative professionals who are passionate about digital media, as well as forums for presenting and discussing your work or research.

Juried Art Gallery: BioLogic Art

For the 2009 SIGGRAPH Conference, the Juried Art Gallery is titled BioLogic: A Natural History of Digital Life. The curators are looking for projects related to the increasingly overlapped areas of art, biology, and technology. The exhibition brings together an ensemble of related works by a select group of artists chosen from hundreds of submissions from artists around the world. The goals are to:

- Assemble the best available work that is related to the BioLogic theme
- Design a gallery space that is suitable for the work exhibited and that facilitates engaged viewing and participation
- Support the exhibiting artists
- Foster dissemination of, interaction with, and dialogue about their projects

Works selected for the SIGGRAPH Juried Art Gallery will also be published in a special issue of Leonardo.

The Juried Art Gallery will be located on the main conference floor during the 2009 SIGGRAPH conference. If you are interested in submitting work to BioLogic Art, visit the submission info page on the SIGGRAPH web site for details on how to submit. Submissions to BioLogic Art are due Wednesday, 18 February 2009.
