Leonardo Education Forum Announcement
Leonardo Education Forum Seeks Proposals for the CAA Chicago 2010 Session
The Leonardo Education Forum is seeking proposals for the CAA Chicago
2010 session in connection with the 98th annual College Art Association Conference. The deadline is June 1, 2009.
CAA guidelines state, "Chairs develop sessions in a manner that is
appropriate to the topics and participants of their sessions. A
characteristic, though certainly not standard, format includes four or
five presentations of twenty minutes each, amplified by audience
participation or by a discussant's commentary. Other forms of
presentation are encouraged." At this stage we are seeking a proposed
topic and format, including suggestions of speakers on a topic.
People interested in proposing and (co)chairing a panel or alternative
format which deals with current issues, practices, topics, or problems
relevant to the intersections of art, science, and technology are
invited to send an abstract (up to 300 words) and a curriculum vita to
co-chairs of LEF, Victoria Vesna, Victoria (vesna@arts.ucla.edu), and
Nina Czegledy, (czegledy@interlog.com>, by June 1, 2009.
Session proposals will be reviewed by the LEF Chairs. The selected
entry will be submitted to CAA with LEF's recommendation by September
1, 2009. If the proposed session is accepted by CAA, the call for papers
will be published by the College Art Association and announced via the
LEF listserv.
