Leonardo Scholarship for Media|Art|Histories

Leonardo/ISAST and The Center for Image Science at Danube University at Krems are pleased to announce their continued cooperation with a half-tuition scholarship for the Master of Arts (MA) course in MediaArtHistories, to begin in November 2012. The American Society for Cybernetics Conference: An Ecology of Ideas

Organized jointly by the American Society for Cybernetics and the Bateson Idea Group, "An Ecology of Ideas" (9-13 July 2012, Asilomar, California) offers a chance to develop ideas that connect to those of Gregory Bateson and his "Ecology of Mind." Bateson died in 1980 and was one of the widest ranging, deepest and most inclusive thinkers of C20: his work merits re-animation. The conference brings students of Bateson and of Cybernetics (of which he was a founder) together with a more general public who are intrigued and interested to learn from and extend key concepts of both. To facilitate this, there will be workshops and conversational presentations under the theme headings of Paradigm, Recursion and Praxis. Find out more

The ZERO1 Garage is envisioned as a platform for creative risk-takers from the arts and culture, business, science and academic sectors to interact, engage, and spur innovative change. We are seeking RFQs for a ZERO1 Fellowship in collaboration with Google Public Policy The centerpiece of the ZERO1 Garage is an interdisciplinary peer network/brain trust composed of innovation experts engaged in collaborative research and experimentation. For this, we are currently seeking artist candidates to apply for a ZERO1 Fellowships in collaboration with Google Public Policy. This fellowship is designed around an Innovation Challenge; our charge to each candidate is to artistically consider a complex issue concerning cultural policy in an information society.
