Join Leonardo/Olats at e-MobiLArt Symposium
LEONARDO/Olats, co-sponsor of e-MobiLArt, is pleased to announce the e-MobiLArt Symposium, 21 - 22 May 2009, Thessaloniki, Greece. During the symposium a short presentation of the project and its activities will take place. Participating artists' groups will talk about their collaborative experience and will present their exhibited artworks. This will be followed by two panel discussions on the curatorial, artistic and organizational perspectives into the collaborative process. Interdisciplinary arts scholar Edward Shanken, the author of Art and Electronic Media (Phaidon, 2009), will be interviewed by arts commentator Dorka Keen at the Exploratorium (San Francisco, CA) on Sunday, June 7 at 3pm, followed by a signing and reception. Art and Electronic Media, the highly anticipated book by Shanken, demonstrates the formidable history of artistic uses of electronic media, a history that parallels the growing pervasiveness of technology in all facets of life.
